LAUROCERASUS

As prescribed by the physician.

• Laurocerasus is a valuable and significant homoeopathic medicine prepared from the fresh leaves of the Prunus laurocerasus (Cherry Laurel) plant, sourced from the Rosaceae family. It is well-recognized for its deep action on the respiratory and circulatory systems, with a strong affinity for conditions involving cyanosis, cardiac weakness, and threatened respiratory paralysis. Laurocerasus is particularly suited for cardiac patients with spasmodic, tickling cough, as well as those suffering from chronic coldness, lack of reaction, and gasping breath. The medicine is also noted for its effects on neonatal asphyxia, dyspnoea, and deep coma-like sleep, making it indispensable in both acute emergencies and chronic cardiovascular debility. Common Name: Cherry Laurel SBL’s Laurocerasus can be helpful in the following conditions: Spasmodic Cough and Dyspnoea • Aids in managing spasmodic tickling cough, especially in those with valvular heart disease. • Laurocerasus is helpful in dyspnoea and gasping for air, worse while sitting up; patients may instinctively clutch at their heart. • Indicated in cough with jelly-like or bloody expectoration and threatened paralysis of lungs. • Supports in cases of cyanosis, especially cyanosis neonatorum, with small, feeble pulse and blue skin. • Relieves constriction of chest and deep suffocative sensations. Palpitation and Cardiac Weakness • Beneficial in mitral regurgitation and general cardiac weakness. • Useful for palpitations, clutching pain at the heart, and circulatory collapse. • Supports patients with lack of reaction, feeble vitality, and coldness unrelieved by external warmth. • Provides relief from pain in the cardiac region, often aggravated by physical exertion. Stomach Pain and Spasms • Helpful in violent pain in the stomach accompanied by loss of speech, typically of nervous origin. • Notable for audible gurgling of liquids through the esophagus and intestines after drinking. • Assists in spasms of the facial muscles and esophagus, resulting in difficulty swallowing or speaking. Coldness, Fever, and Cyanosis • Addresses general coldness of the body, particularly in hands, feet, and extremities, not relieved by warmth. • Indicated in fever states marked by alternating chills and heat, often with dry mouth and thirst in the afternoon. • Suuports circulation in patients with blue, clammy skin and signs of oxygen deprivation. Disturbed Dreams and Comatose States • Beneficial in spells of deep, stertorous sleep, as seen in states of cerebral hypoxia or coma. • Laurocerasus supports recovery from sleep marked by snoring and labored breathing, troublesome and agitated dreams. Cold and Painful Extremities • Helps in clubbing of fingers, cold, clammy feet, and knotty nails of toes and fingers—often seen in chronic heart-lung cases. • Eases sprain-like pains in hips, thighs, and heels, particularly in circulatory compromise. Drawing and tearing pains in limbs. Numbness and stiffness of feet after rising from a seat. • Manages distended veins in the hands and poor peripheral circulation.
