MORPHINUM ACETICUM

As prescribed by the physician.

• Morphinum aceticum, the acetate salt of the alkaloid Morphia derived from Opium, embodies the narcotic and hypnotic properties of Opium in a refined form—much like Atropine. It is less stimulating than crude Opium, but more profoundly sedative, pruritic, and depressant to the central nervous system. Morphinum aceticum exerts a marked influence on the sensorium, leading to mental dullness, functional sluggishness of internal organs, and extreme pain sensitivity. It is especially suited to states of collapse, nervous prostration, restlessness with insomnia, and hypersensitive neuralgic or gastrointestinal complaints. It is especially helpful in managing low vitality, erratic sleep cycles, and hypersensitivity to internal and external stimuli, often seen in states of extreme exhaustion or post-shock trauma. Common Name English: Acetate of Morphia SBL’s Morphinum aceticum can be helpful in the following conditions: Nervous Delirium & Hyperaesthesia • Aids in profound mental depression, discouragement, and melancholic delirium. • Morphinum aceticum helps manage restlessness, hyperesthesia, and twitching from extreme pain sensitivity. • Supports cases of shock from fear, dream-like confusion, and neuralgias. • Aids in violent, sudden neuralgic pains—especially left supraorbital and right intercostal—better from heat. • Helps in jerking, trembling, and spontaneous limb movements from nervous exhaustion. • Manages hysterical, irritable, fault-finding mental states with sleeplessness. • Supports intense sensitivity where bed feels too hard; aids in general sore, bruised sensations. • Aids in staggering gait, general numbness, and trembling due to nervous system derangement. Hard Teasing Cough & Weakness • Helps manage paroxysmal dyspnea, especially on falling asleep; supports diaphragmatic weakness and Cheyne-Stokes breathing. • Aids in dry, hard, teasing cough—worse at night and exhausting in nature. • Supports the expulsion of thick, sticky sputum with a sensation of suffocation. • Manages tightness and soreness in the middle of the chest with faintness and struggling for breath. • Aids in cough with viscid mucus that sounds abundant but is scanty in amount. Cardiac Weakness • Supports alternating tachycardia and bradycardia, with general cardiac exhaustion. • Morphinum aceticum aids in conditions where the pulse is small, weak, and dicrotic. • Helps maintain cardiac muscle tone even under extreme stress or weakness. Gastrointestinal Distress • Aids in persistent, deathly nausea with faintness and vomiting—especially of green fluid. • Helps manage vomiting triggered by rising or movement. • Supports abdominal distention, tympanitis, and pain radiating along the spinal axis. • Aids in constipation with large, knotty stools that bruise and fissure the rectum. • Helps in violent, watery, brown or black diarrhea with painful tenesmus. • Supports loss of appetite with aversion to meat and constant thirst. Urinary Retention • Aids in paresis of the bladder with slow, difficult urination and retention. • Helps manage strangury, urinary retention due to prostatic hypertrophy. • Supports conditions of uremia—both acute and chronic. • Aids in impotency and neuralgia in the right spermatic cord. Headache and Ptosis • Supports bursting headaches with sensation of being "wound-up"; head drawn back. • Aids in vertigo on the slightest movement; itching of eyes and nose. • Helps manage bluish, drooping eyelids (ptosis), unsteady gaze, and unequal pupil contraction. • Aids in paresis of ocular muscles and strabismus with starting, visual illusions. • Helps in throbbing pain in the left ear and auditory sensitivity—hearing one’s own circulation. • Manages sneezing fits with tingling at the tip of the nose. Dryness of Throat • Aids in dry, constricted throat making swallowing difficult—better from hot drinks. • Supports management of dry mouth and brownish-violet coating on the tongue. • Helps in cases of thirst with overall dryness of the mouth, tongue, paralyzed pharynx and aversion to solids. Fever With Deep Fatigue • Aids in alternating chills and burning heat with profuse sweating. • Helps in general malaise with coldness rising from the spine. • Morphinum aceticum supports deep fatigue, sore sensation throughout the body, and a bruised feeling.
