PHASEOLUS VULGARIS

As prescribed by the physician.

• Phaseolus vulgaris is a lesser-known yet highly useful homoeopathic medicine, derived from the dried beans and pods of kidney bean plant belonging from Leguminosæ family. It is particularly recognized for its deep action on the heart and circulatory system, making it a valuable medicine in conditions involving cardiac debility, irregular heart rhythm, and circulatory collapse. Beyond its cardiovascular effects, it also acts on the nervous, urinary, and digestive systems, offering relief in cases marked by mental dullness, fear of death, urinary irregularities, and abdominal discomfort suggestive of hernia. Its usefulness in restoring function during states of extreme weakness or collapse has made it a useful medicine in clinical practice, especially in acute or emergency-like presentations. Common Name Hindi: Rajma English: Navy Bean, Haricot Bean SBL’s Phaseolus vulgaris can be helpful in the following conditions: Cardiac Disorders Supports heart function in late-stage heart disease and cardiac failure. Phaseolus vulgaris is useful in cases of weak, irregular pulse and palpitations with a fear of death. Helps restore pulse in cases of puerperal convulsions, dropsy of the pericardium, and albuminuria. Beneficial for heart rhythm irregularities (e.g., skipped beats) and extreme cardiac exhaustion. Can assist in cases with hard, isolated heart thumps occurring at regular intervals. Neurological and Mental Health Indicated in mental dullness, where the person only responds when spoken to loudly. Useful in cases with a sense of impending death, especially accompanying heart symptoms. Helps relieve shock, fear, or unconsciousness due to cardiac insufficiency. Headache and Neurological Pain Headache focused in the forehead and orbits, aggravated by movement and mental effort. Pressing headache as if something is pushing hard against the temples. Pain in right side of forehead, especially while writing. In sensitive individuals, intense headache may trigger severe reactions. Eye and Orbit Issues Pain in the right orbit or around the eyeball, worsened by movement or touch. Sensation like a blow to the eyeball, especially the right. Smarting, itching in the inner corners of the eyes. Pupils may appear dilated and unresponsive in severe states. Abdominal and Inguinal Pain Severe, dull pain in the epigastric region, especially when touched. Symptoms mimicking hernia in the right inguinal ring, lasting through the day. General discomfort in the abdomen, with possible shrinkage or drawing up of legs in children due to pain. Urinary Disorders Bloody urine, possibly indicative of inflammation or trauma. May support management of diabetes and uric acid gravel in the urinary tract. Male Sexual Health Indicated for complete impotence in men. May help reduce symptoms of prostate enlargement. Respiratory Concerns Slow, sighing respiration especially in states of collapse. May be supportive in cases of hydrothorax (fluid accumulation in the chest cavity). Musculoskeletal Discomfort Bruised feeling in the rib cartilage and right humerus (upper arm bone). Painful, movable swelling appearing near the right nipple. General Weakness and Collapse Skin may be bedewed with cold perspiration. Extremely low pulse, slow breathing, and near-collapse states. Phaseolus vulgaris is helpful in restoring function in shock or collapse, especially when accompanied by cardiac distress.
