• Ptelea trifoliata, commonly known as Wafer-Ash, is a homoeopathic medicine prepared from the bark of the tree native to North America. Belonging to the Rutaceae family, it is particularly useful in treating liver and stomach disorders, especially when associated with a heavy, aching sensation in the hepatic region. This medicine is suited to atonic conditions of the digestive system, with persistent nausea, eructations, and burning sensations in the stomach. It is also noted for its usefulness in asthmatic complaints with a sense of suffocation while lying on the back, and in individuals experiencing mental dullness and unrefreshing sleep with disturbing dreams. Common name English: Common Hoptree, Wafer Ash SBL’s Ptelea trifoliata can be helpful in the following conditions: • Liver & Abdominal Disorders Aids in conditions marked by soreness and swelling of the liver, particularly with pain aggravated when lying on the left side and relieved by lying on the right. Supports liver function in cases of abdominal retraction, fullness, and right-sided heaviness. Ptelea trifoliata helps treat sensitive, painful liver, especially when accompanied by digestive disturbances and a coated tongue. • Gastric & Stomach Complaints Treats atonic stomach states with symptoms such as fullness, griping in the epigastrium, and burning sensations. Aids in relieving nausea, vomiting, and eructations. Useful when the stomach feels empty immediately after eating, despite having just consumed food. Frontal headaches that extend to the root of the nose, worse from noise, motion, night, or eye rubbing. Relieves pressing pains in the temples, described as if the temples were being squeezed together. Intense, throbbing headache with a bursting or splitting sensation, worsened by mental effort or concentration. • Mouth & Tongue Aids in reducing excess saliva with a dry, bitter taste. Treats a white or yellow-coated tongue, often described as rough, swollen, with red, prominent papillae. Supports oral health in digestive disturbances with accompanying mouth symptoms. • Respiratory & Cardiac Region Helps relieve dyspnea and asthmatic breathing, especially when worse lying on the back. Aids in addressing the sensation of pressure or suffocation in the lungs, and cramp-like chest pain near the heart. • Sleep & Dreams Supports restful sleep in individuals plagued by nightmares, restless sleep, and frightful dreams.
