STRYCHNINUM PHOSPHORICUM

As prescribed by the physician.

• Strychninum phosphoricum is a potent homoeopathic medicine derived from the phosphate of strychnin. It exerts its primary influence through the cerebro-spinal system, with a marked action on muscular tone, circulation, and mental stability. Characterized by muscle twitching, stiffness, weakness, and progressive loss of power, it is especially suited for conditions of acute asthenia, chorea, hysteria, and anemic or degenerative spinal states. The medicine also affects the heart and pulse, producing tachycardia, irregularity, and signs of early cardiac decompensation. Particularly valuable in neurological fatigue following acute illnesses, this medicine responds well in cases worsened by motion and relieved by rest and fresh air. Common Name English: Phosphate of Strychnin SBL’s Strychninum phosphoricum can be helpful in the following conditions: Nervous and Muscular System Deep action on muscles via the cerebro-spinal system, leading to twitching, stiffness, and general weakness. Helps in improving muscular function in cases of paralysis or spinal cord anemia. Indicated in burning, aching, and weakness of the spine, especially mid-dorsal. Pain may extend to the front of the chest, with marked tenderness on spinal pressure. Relieves chorea, hysteria, and motor instability post-fevers. Circulatory and Cardiac Symptoms Acts upon the circulatory system, producing a very irregular, rapid, and weak pulse. Indicated in tachycardia, fatigue of the heart muscle, and incipient fatty degeneration. Helpful in early stages of atelectasis and cardiac decompensation, especially in hypertrophied hearts. Mental and Emotional State Noted for lack of mental control, with an uncontrollable desire to laugh and disinclination to engage the mind. Strychninum phosphoricum is suitable in nervous breakdowns where mental inertia or emotional disconnection is prominent. Skin and Sensory Complaints Cold, clammy feet and perspiration on hands and in axillae, reflecting poor nervous and vascular regulation.
